Daneya Lynn, LCSW

Daneya Lynn, LCSW

Licensed Social Worker

Daneya sometimes jokes that working with her feels like being part of a highly personalized book club. She often recommends thoughtfully chosen books, podcasts, and other resources that align with what a client is working through, recognizing that growth between sessions can be just as meaningful as the work done in the room.

Her style is curious, collaborative, and analytical. Daneya approaches therapy as a shared process—one where she and her clients work together to make sense of patterns, experiences, and challenges. She is committed to helping clients unpack their stories and understand how past experiences shape their present.

Finding the right therapist—someone who fits your personality and perspective—is essential to a positive experience. Daneya brings warmth, humor, and, when appropriate, a sense of playfulness to her work, helping clients feel at ease. She may incorporate creative activities or games alongside traditional talk therapy. Above all, she sees her clients as whole people—with strengths, fears, desires, and complexities—not simply problems to be solved.

Daneya has experience across a range of therapeutic modalities and diagnoses, and is particularly well-suited to support clients navigating complex trauma, attachment wounds, sex and pornography addiction, and self-esteem challenges. She is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist and understands the nuances of neurodivergence. Her approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy and integrates elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and existential therapy.
