Her training and client base is largely trauma focused. Trauma can present itself in many ways; Depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders are common for people who have experienced a traumatic event. Many clients, both children and adults, turn to substances and/or other behaviors in order to cope. Unpacking traumatic events can be very triggering and painful, and Bridget feels fortunate to be a part of navigating each journey with her clients.
Initial sessions will focus on building a trusting therapeutic relationship and creating a safe space. She believes in a comprehensive approach to treatment. It is not uncommon, when appropriate, to include family members, partners, and/ or other important people into the treatment process. This can help promote a supportive environment within your network outside of therapy.
